This is the well known sculpture in the entrance courtyard of the museum. It is incredibly tall and makes a statement. It is contemporary in nature and fits well with the rest of the museum.
This is the view from the elevator on the side of the museum. I love the modern features of the this museum in contrast with the traditional structure of the building. It is a mix of old and new.
It is an incredible feeling to have the access to see a Picasso painting on a Monday evening. This is "Guernica", one of his most famous works. The painting depicts the tragedies of war.
I love the layout of this piece by Francesc Catalá-Roca. The piece shows modernity and tradition with Cinderella in the middle. I interpreted the piece as representing the chase for time when living in a city.
The pop of color in this piece by Luis Gordillo stood out to me! I love the usage of perspective. You have to take multiple looks at the painting to appreciate its details.
From time to time, I like to channel my inner blogger. This is one my attempts at looking cool in a museum! You can decide if I was successful in my attempt or not
This installation by Ree Morton was interesting to me due to it's simplicity. There space isn't crowded, and I know that each piece was placed with intent. I'm not completely sure of the artist's message, but I am not an expert in art. What do you think?
I have been seeing pieces with light fixtures at different museums as well, but I really liked the mix usage in this piece of both photos and lights.
