When I first stepped out of the Green Line 2 station, I was overwhelmed by the constant movement of life around me. There were pop-up stores selling shirts, sweaters, jackets, shoes, and dresses to my right. Three women working in beauty stores were outside with microphones, loudly speaking about their stores' beauty product deals to entice customers to come into the store. Two street performances were simultaneously performing 30 feet away from each other, competing for the attention of people passing by. There are three malls and two movie theaters within a five-minute walk of each other. There seems to be a festival happening in Sinchon every week. No matter what day or time, there is always something to do in Sinchon.

If I do not have time to cook or am in a hurry, there are many restaurant options in Sinchon. Because Sinchon is considered a college district, the food is cheap in order to accommodate the average college student's budget. One of my favorite places is called Pomato. My favorite dish is the spicy bulgogi pork. The best part is that it only costs 3,500 KRW! That is around $3! I can also get soup, kimchee, and various pickled vegetables (pickled cucumber and radish are very popular) as side dishes (banchan).
