Studying abroad in Morocco has been a fun and educational experience. From meeting new people, to trying new foods and working with migrants, I've gained lots of stories to share with people back home in the U.S. Before this year, I never thought that I would have the possibility to study abroad. I grew up in a poor family. I grew up in a dangerous neighborhood. I wasn't expected to make it to college. Don't listen to the people that say you're not good enough to do something or achieve something because of where you come from. Keep working hard and believing in yourself. I support you and am cheering you on!
One of the best things about studying abroad is meeting new people and listening to different languages. I think it is really cool that there are so many different languages in this world. I am going to try to learn Spanish when I get back to the United States. I encourage you all to continue to learn more languages. It will help when you travel to other parts of the world and have to speak to someone who doesn't know English or Spanish.
Enjoy your friends that are like you and like the same things that you do, but also make friends with people that are different than you. Our differences are beautiful and help us learn more about our world. New York is a fun place with different cultures. Go explore all the different cultures that are in New York.
