Although it is still common to see masks, it is very common to see exercise equipement at different parks and recreation areas all over the city, though more so in residential areas.
One especially pleasant thing is that everything in Seoul is clean. It is rare to see any trash on the ground. There are people that go around sweeping and mopping public areas and making sure they look neat. Koreans are, on the whole, concerned with appearances, so a neat subway station and street are a must.
Despite these observations about the things I have noticed as being different in Korea, I would say that, overall, I am reminded me that we're not all that different from each other. We all worry about politics, we think our teachers are trying to bury us in homework, we all have dreams and goals and we all hope to change the world someday. Or at the very least pass all of our exams.!
I like this feeling that we are all, deep down, the same. It makes me feel at home in Seoul, South Korea!
