There is nothing that I love more than food! Korean food especially. Dishes here usually consist of an entree item and banchan (or side dishes) that are, more often than not, some kind of fermented vegetable. Most foods, here are either spicy or sweet, or sometimes, both.
Without a doubt, when I ask my friends what they will miss most about Korea, it is the food. Food here is not just a method of survival: it's an experience. I mentioned before that South Koreans are very concerned with appearance; this also extends to their food, which must not only taste good but it must look good as well. Due of this fact, restaurants and cafes tend to gain more popularity when their customers are able to take pictures of the food and drink they have enjoyed there. So, everyone takes pictures of their food, here. And these are not your typical food photo taken from above; there is an art to taking food photos, here! I'm not proficient in it myself but I have noticed that I've become much more proficient at taking photos since I arrived in Korea. It is a part of the ritual of eating to take photos of your food for Instagram. And if you want to show off your Korean "skillz", you can say jal mogeo sib ni da, which means something along the lines of, "thank you for the food."
