Die Geschichte meines Lebens mit Deutsch / My German Life Story

Journal Entry:

Hallo alle!

Ich heiße Henry (oder Heinrich, das ist auch gut) und ich bin jetzt (now) in Kopenhagen, Dänemark! How I got here is still quite astonishing to me, but it begins in the very class you're all sitting in now, except about six years ago. You see, I was born in Longmont, but ever since I could remember I have known Loveland, Colorado as my home. I went through Sarah Milner, Bill Reed, Thompson Valley, and, concurrently during my senior year, Loveland High. When I entered TVHS after a brief stint of time in Austin, Texas, I had my first taste of Spanish, but Deutsch war immer mir interresant (German was always interesting to me), and this was the time for me to explore that interest. Flash forward two years, to my senior year, and I had actually gotten pretty good at German (if I do say so myself), but at the time TVHS only went up to German II, so part of my daily schedule then included getting driven to LHS for the German III/IV class. Since the teacher at TVHS in my time was a certain Herr Habig, it was only at this point that I met Frau Omlid.

If you ever asked me at the time what I was planning on doing with my life, it was just finishing up my German education as best I could and maybe taking on a minor in the language at CSU.
