Farmers use motorbikes to transport fruits, vegetables, rice, and other crops they grow to different markets to sell. For people who need to deliver things to places around Soc Trang City or just down the street, motorbikes are a convenient way to do that. Paper mail and small packages are even delivered to people's homes and workplaces by motorbike. At some eateries and coffee shops in Soc Trang, you can call and order food and drinks, which will then be delivered to you by an employee driving a bike with one hand while balancing a tray with your order on it with the other! A few decades ago, many families in Soc Trang, especially those who lived in the countryside, did not own motorbikes. Nowadays, though, it is common for families to have at least one, if not two or even three, bikes.

Another way people, particularly children and elderly people, get around in Soc Trang is by riding foot bicycles. For people who are too young to drive a motorbike, riding a bicycle is a common way to get to school and go around with friends. For older folks, riding a bicycle is a way to keep their bodies strong, continue working or just simply going places after retiring. More generally, people use bicycles to exercise, as a way to relax and get some fresh air, to travel short distances and/or to do any tasks, like picking up or buying just a few things that do not require a motorbike. For people who cannot use motorbikes or for those who do not have enough money to buy one, riding a bicycle can be an accessible and affordable (and environmentally friendly) way of getting around.

When people in Soc Trang and throughout Vietnam want to travel longer distances, like from Soc Trang to a different province, people will often use buses.
