Although maybe it doesn't really count as a meal, I think the best thing I ate this past week was a birthday cake that my friend's aunt made for my birthday. My friend is Khmer and her aunt knows that I have been trying to learn the Khmer language, so she and her husband wrote "Happy Birthday" in Khmer on the cake for me. She even put Skittles in the center of the cake. Yummy!
I've been listening to Morissette Amon nonstop this past week. Her version of the song "Akin Ka Na Lang" is so beautiful. I can't stop listening to it. She is Filipina and the song is in Tagalog, the native language of the Philippines. Amon speaks both Tagalog and English, and you can find her singing songs in English too on YouTube. You should definitely check her out.
I also regularly listen to artists like Janelle Monae, Sam Smith, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino and Kehlani. I also try to listen to Vietnamese and Khmer music. Right now, one of my favorite Vietnamese songs is "Đừng Xin Lỗi Nữa". What kinds of music do all of you like to listen to?
