Nature News

Most of the cats I see are stray, as the ones with owners are kept inside since the city can be a dangerous environment for them to be in. My school has its own “Stray Cat Feeding Club” and we have some recurring customers that I’ll show in the pictures. As for dogs, I always see them wearing fun pieces of clothing or in strollers. It is so common to see dogs in strollers that when I see a baby in one I get surprised! I have also seen all types of different birds. It is very hard to catch them on camera though, they are usually alone and fly away quickly. While I’m not a bird expert I would say all the birds I’ve seen so far are beautiful and a little unusual. I hope to see more this spring.

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was the change from winter to spring. My school is surrounded by trees and grass, so it can look pretty dead and grey during winter. While I think the simplicity and monochromatic palette of winter are beautiful, seeing everything around bloom and start to show colors has been really exciting. I can’t wait for it to be summer and see everything full of leaves and flowers. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying the soft transition into spring and hope to be able to capture it in more pictures.

Other Nature News from this week:

Cherry Blossoms! Because spring has just arrived in South Korea, cherry blossoms make everything look brighter and prettier. Sadly, they won’t last long (they’re normally here only for two to three weeks) so it’s important to catch them before they’re gone. You can see them all around Seoul. From parks to the Han River the most buildings.
