Counting my flight from Massachusetts to Hong Kong, as well as my trip here and my exploration of Hong Kong on its own, I have seen so many new places and traveled for so long! What is the furthest you have ever traveled from home?
I relied on the bus system to get around this week, as it was fairly reliable and covered most of the island. It takes a tad bit longer than if I drove to places on my own, but rides anywhere only cost me about two USD.
I really enjoyed my trip to Jusangjeollidae, which is a cliffside of black volcanic rock with angular pillars carved into it by the ocean's waves. Not only was it a fascinating work of nature, but it was also very serene. It is very easy to meditate and think when you are out in nature.
My final stop in Jejudo was at Hamdeok Beach, on the north side of the island. The water was a brilliant cerulean blue and the sand itself was very fine and soft to walk on. As you could expect, Jejudo has lots of different beaches as well, some great for surfing with massive waves and others more calm with beautiful colored sand from volcanic activity.
