Autobiography

Journal Entry:

A little about me. I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan! Which is on the WHOLE other side of the state from Detroit. Living with my family in Grand Rapids, I grew up with a love of travel and exploring different cultures and countries. With my family, I traveled to Greece and France, which showed me the importance of exploring places that are different from where I was born. Every time I ended up back in Grand Rapids I knew I wanted more and to explore more, but first came my education.

I jumped from university to university and career to career, but I finally ended up in the perfect spot for me! I studied up in education at Michigan State University (MSU). I loved working in education and working with students just like you! At MSU, I also met Marlise, who is my partner! This passion for education took me to a wonderful school (you might know it): it is called Academy of the Americas. At this school, I learned from wonderful teachers and students about how to be a teacher AND how to improve my Spanish. The experience from this school allowed me to pursue another dream, living abroad.

I accomplished this dream by applying to the Fulbright program, which is a program that helps students travel to different countries in order to do either research or to teach English. I was lucky enough to be accepted by the Fulbright organization as an English Teacher in Atlacomulco, Mexico.

Un poco sobre mí mismo.
