Attending school here in France for me involves walking all across the city to get to the various buildings for my classes. My school has libraries and cafes in some of the buildings, and you can find cute local shops on the same streets! This is different from some of the other universities in Paris, however. There are 15 universities in this one city, and each of these institutions has different goals and layouts. Usually, unlike with my school, there is one small campus where all of the classrooms are grouped together. When I'm on the train, I sometimes pass by these campuses and admire the beautiful school buildings.
This single-campus layout is also similar to the local schools, which take up just one building tucked away between other shops. There's a school right by my apartment, and I had no idea until just a few weeks ago because there is no sign for it, and the school is tucked right above some shops. On the street called Saint Dominique, there are multiple schools hidden behind stores that you wouldn't even know were there if it wasn't for the 4pm flood of young students leaving their studies for the day. It amazes me to think that these kids get to grow up in the heart of Paris and can see the Eiffel Tower from their grade schools!
