Ciao! (This is an easy way to say hello and goodbye in Italian.) My name is Francesca, and I am from the great city of Chicago, Illinois. I am 21 years old, and I am a senior in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I study psychology, which is the study of people and their brains.
When I was younger, I decided that I really wanted to help people with their mental health. Mental health is a term that refers to how you feel on the inside, like if you feel happy or sad. However, psychology has many different fields (things you can study), and I fell in love with all of them. For example, I became really interested in social psychology, which is studying how being in a group, as with a group of friends, can change how you act, in contrast with how you might act by yourself or with your parents. I also became interested in behavioral neuroscience, which is the study of the brain and the body interacting through little cells called neurons. Neurons communicate to one another about things happening in your brain and body.
During my lifetime, many family members have gone to live in different countries.
