It can thrive in sun and partial shade. As it is found in its ideal location, the northern region, it is in an environment perfect for survival. Its seeds are spread by birds called thrushes, making it easy for the plant to reproduce.
Although it is a hardy plant, it can be harmed by pests, fungal diseases and other environmental factors. Extreme weather conditions and lack of care, like not watering it enough, can make the plant struggle to survive. Diseases can also harm the plant by producing yellow or brown spots or a white powder coating on the leaves. If this occurs, these plants should be removed in order to not further spread disease. With proper care, and since this plant is a wild plant, we should not be worried about this plant becoming extinct.
