A lot of the music that I heard this week was K-pop or Korean pop music. Seoul is known as a shopper's paradise, and many of the shops play loud music to create a fun atmosphere and attract more customers. The most popular artists that I've heard are BTS, Blackpink and EXO.
My favorite activity this week was going to Bukchon Hanok Village. This village is from the Joseon era of Korea, and its buildings have been preserved to keep their original design until the present day. I was able to see what a traditional Korean house from hundreds of years ago looked like. The amazing part is: people still live in the village!
I finished learning the Korean alphabet this week, so I've been trying to read as much Korean as I can. From reading store menus to bus signs, I'm trying my hardest to become more familiar with the Korean language. It's difficult, but also very rewarding when I can understand something new!
I learned the Korean way to play rock, paper, scissors, which is pronounced kai bai bo. Whenever my friends and I can't decide on something, we play kai bai bo. One of my professors even made us play it to decide on the due date of an assignment!
