Student Interview: Learning about Life in Taiwan

What jobs do your parents have?:

公司職員 (Company Employee)。(The parents work to pay for their children's schooling. They are very hard-working, and I know some of my students' parents work in companies, and others work as car electricians around Wenshan.)

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

7:40-4:00. (Some students may have classes after 4 pm, which is also known as their 8th period). 

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

搭公車，我可以自己去上學 (I can go to school by myself by taking the bus)。

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

吃學校的營養午餐，最愛吃水果 (I eat the school's nutritious lunch and I love fruit the most)。

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:
  • Mandarin and English
  • 你好 (Hello!）。
What are some common kids' names at your school?:
  • 中文 (Chinese Names): 林柏宏 Línbǎihóng,  逸塵 Yìchén 
  • 英文 (English Name): Jack
What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

體育 (Physical Education)。Math, science, Chinese, English, history, biology, health, and performing arts. My favorite classes are English and Chinese.

What is your homework like?:

國文很多很多 (There are so many Chinese texts)。
