From Sunrise to Sunset in My Peruvian Town

I usually work until about 1:00 p.m., then head home—often with a long uphill walk.

Lunch is shared with my host family and usually includes rice, potatoes, soup, and some type of protein. Afterward, I take some time to rest or do something I enjoy, like reading, drawing, or calling a friend.

Around 4:00 p.m., it’s time to head back out to the farm. We give water to the cows, feed the pigs, and bring the sheep back home. After chores, I take a (very) cold shower before dinner. Dinner is usually leftovers from lunch, and afterward we sit together and drink tea while talking about our day.

After that, I head back to my room. I usually have an hour or two to relax before I get tired and go to bed—ready to do it all again the next day.
