All About Cynthia!

Once I learned how easy it was to study abroad in Ghana, I packed my bags and said “Sign me up!” right away. Ever since then, it’s been a whirlwind!

I love life in Ghana, but I also miss home a lot. Back in Georgia, I live with my mom, our two dogs (Surge and Via) and sometimes my sister and brother. My sister lives in Kentucky, and my brother is a college student in a different part of Georgia. While I’m home, I work in my mom’s office. She’s a lawyer, and she needs my help to keep her office organized and all of her papers properly filed.

I’m studying international affairs, which makes traveling a great thing for me to do! I spend all of my time learning about different countries and the way they work together to create the world that we have today. When I’m not studying, I like to travel anyway for fun. Ghana is the 42nd country that I’ve visited, and when I finish my semester here, I will travel all by myself until August. By the next time I’m home, I will have visited six of the seven continents! Can you guess which one I haven’t visited? (Hint: It’s the coldest one!)

My life in Ghana is full of challenges, but I’m learning to thrive in a very different environment. I have a lovely group of friends who are also learning to navigate life here, and we all work together to get the full Ghanaian experience. Stay tuned to hear more about it, and I can’t wait to learn more about your class, as well!
