I traveled from Södermalm, the island where I live in Stockholm, to Uppsala. Uppsala is one of Sweden's oldest and most historically important cities. It is home to Uppsala University, which was founded in 1477 and is the oldest university in Sweden and the Nordic countries. Uppsala is about 40 miles away, and my train ride took around 45 minutes.
The furthest I've traveled so far was to Gothenburg (Goteborg) with my class. It is about 300 miles away from my island and took around four hours by train. Gothenburg has Sweden's largest port and is an important gateway for Swedish imports and exports. It also has a huge candy store near the port that I got to visit!
I usually get aroud by metro, which is a type of public transportation. It is similar to a bus, but it can travel underground and can carry many more people. Stockholm's metro system has lots of different lines that can take you all around the city.
