My teachers at school will often give me hugs or kisses on the cheek when I see them. People that I don’t know super-well but work with or volunteer with will send me heart emojis or kissing emojis when texting me. People in the United States have more boundaries when it comes to showing affection, so this cultural difference was very interesting to me when I first encountered it!
There are many other cultural differences such as the pride Spaniards have for their country that I don’t see as much in America. They are united under such a long history that they can express their pride of their country without being stereotyped into one box. I have noticed that if someone in America says they have American pride they are often stereotyped. I have admired Spain and the pride that brings the people together.
