Riding Through El Rocío

Photos

My horse for the weekend, Noah, is an Andalusian, which means her breed is from the southern region of Andalusia
Cars and pedestrians aren't allowed to enter the park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site
You can only go through the park by bike, on horseback or with a tour company
In Spanish, horse is "caballo" and the rider is called "el/la jinete"
El Rocío is famous for its "ermita," a sanctuary that draws almost a million people from all over Spain to this tiny town every summer
The town is made for horses; it has only dirt roads and hitching posts so you can ride into town and grab a drink or a meal
The town is also famous for its "marismeña," a lake and marsh with wild flamingos
Later on in the first day, I rode a different horse named Triana (which is a famous neighborhood in my home city, Sevilla)
