Though the Central Flood Commission has been helpful in the aftermath of the floods, there still isn't a lot being done to help prevent events like these from happening in the future. Many years ago in Bruntal, a special dam and water reservoir were built so that the water level of the rivers could be controlled, and that has helped to prevent flooding. Something like this could really help these cities, but it is expensive and would take some time to complete.
Overall, there is a lot that has been done to help these cities and the people, but there is still much work to be done.
