My favorite sandwich so far was made fresh, so I think I will prioritize places with things made-to-order, so I can also find new ingredients for my own creations. For example, a late-night spot called Misterpizza makes personal pizzas on the spot, and they are so delicious that my friends and I have been twice! I am hoping to observe more recipes to cook at home, as it will allow me to save money to plan for more intentional dining experiences. And since a baguette is only €.79 (about 94 cents), it will be quite cost efficient to prepare my own little lunches.
I believe there is not a location with more of a connection to their cuisine than Italy, and I am very excited to explore this further. Every little cafe or restaurant offers handheld pastries, sandwiches, and even bowls of pasta! Coffee is sold just about anywhere, and I feel grateful that my apartment is right next to a popular local spot. They don't speak English and it is full of Italian neighbors, which signifies a more authentic experience and I look forward to trying more of their drinks. I also look forward to making a list of favorites that Italians recommend. I know that when visitors come to NYC I can point them in a good direction, so I want to find out the best pasta and pizza from someone who knows it like the back of their hand!
