There are lights all over the palm trees and along the road. It almost feels magical. I saw one of the trucks lifting a worker high into the air to put lights up between buildings. I’m very grateful for the work they did. It makes me so happy every evening when I see the lights turn on!
In other news, I got to ride on the bus that the school reserved for us on the way to Reggio Calabria. I enjoyed talking to my coworkers and students during the journey. One thing that I found strange was that they don’t have any school buses! Some schools in Italy do, especially for younger students, however this school doesn’t have any at all. Students have to find a way to get to school themselves or with their parents. A lot of kids take public transportation, like the bus or train.
