Journal Entry:

Well.... as I look back on this time last year, my journey didn't end the way I thought it would.  I remember thinking that just last week I was in Paris during Fashion Week, exploring the Louvre with my friends, and now I was fleeing Milan on the way to Rome, hoping I could to get a flight back to the States. I kept thinking of how unfair everything felt, having my program end early. I kept thinking about the people I wouldn't see again for a very long time. I also felt anxious about the uncertainity of what this virus entails. How long would all of this go on?  I couldn't stop thinking about all the friends I was leaving behind and the potential for the friendships I could have had, not to mention he experiences I would have had, the places I would have traveled to, and all the FOOD I would have gotten to try. Out of all the times a worldwide pandemic could have happened, why during my Spring 2020 semester abroad?

But then, as now, I'm trying to keep a positive mindset. I believe that everything happens according to God's plan and that He can see the bigger picture when we can't. I'm thankful for the relationships I did get to form and for the things I got to learn about Italy's culture and about myself while abroad.
