From the midday rain storms to watching the rice paddies whizz by through the windows of the red, roaring coach bus, I am sad to say that my time here is almost over. Although parts of me miss what life was like when I was home, Chu Town has become a home away from home that I know I will miss dearly. I will miss the students who I have grown to know and the routine. Although three months seems like a long time, once you’ve finished most of it, you realize how little time it is. There are cities I still want to visit, places I still want to explore, lessons I still want to teach, but I understand that life moves on and people, places and things will grow regardless of my presence. I am grateful to have the time I did here and hope to return to see Vietnam’s amazing achievements in the future.
