The menus are slightly different (Starbucks in Taiwan carry a cheesecake dessert that they do not have in the United States), but the main items, such as cheeseburgers, coffee and French fries are the same. Whenever I am missing food from home, I make a quick stop at McDonalds because I know it will taste the same as my local McDonalds in Denver!
Every day that I am in Taiwan, I experience something new. Whether it is learning a new word, trying a new food or conversing with a new friend, I am always presented with opportunities to deepen my understanding of the Taiwanese community in which I live. This deepened understanding of my local community is my favorite part of living in Taiwan.
