A Day in the Life of a Kid in Prague

What chores do you have at home?:

At home, my chores vary, but one I can always count on is cleaning out the dishwasher. I also sometimes have to help cook and clean the dishes. Aside from that, I have a lot of outside chores, like helping to chop wood, clearing out weeds in the garden, cutting old branches off trees and trimming the bushes.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom works as a cashier at a local grocery store, and my dad drives a tram. Because my mom works at a grocery store, she always brings home some treats! She also works at similar times every day. My dad, on the other hand, has a crazy schedule. Sometimes he works through the night and early hours of the morning. This is because public transportation runs all the time to make sure people can get home, go to work and school.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School starts at 7:30, but I have to get up around 5:30 to get there in time. I leave school around 3:45 and get home around 4 or later if there is bad traffic.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I get to school by using public transportation. First, I take the bus, then the metro to get closer to the city center, which is where my school is. I go by myself! On the way home, instead of the metro, I take the train, which I like better because I can see outside the windows.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at school. Sometimes I bring my lunch and have a sandwich, but other times I eat there. My favorite food depends, but I really like sushi and pasta.
