Food in the Czech Republic!

Traditionally, this would be for 24 hours, but most people make it in a shorter amount of time. Then, when the meat and sauce are ready, the bread dumplings are boiled just a little, and then they are ready to serve!

Svickova s Knedliky is very connected to the local environment. The sauce is made from root vegetables like carrots, parsley root and celery root. These vegetables grow well in the climate here and have been a staple in Czech cuisine for a long time. The meat was traditionally cooked for a very long time because many people ate the tougher parts of beef, like the shoulder and chest. This dish is not considered a daily food but is traditionally used at weddings, family gatherings or important holidays.
