Visiting My Citi Local Host in Sydney

"No one day is the same as the next. My job at Citi involves following the global currency markets, which can change every second, sometimes. I like a challenge and being kept on my toes. My work delivers on those points. Outside of that, I get to meet very smart people and work with them to deliver solutions that change the way a company manages risk, which is also very cool."

Is there anything you want to say to U.S. students?

"If you can, do an exchange! Get yourself to another country while you are at university (in college) and immerse yourself in being a student in that country.

Most U.S. students give pretty glowing reports on visiting Australia, so we must be all right!"

Apart from these questions, Cara and I were also able to talk about my future career. My goal is to become a physician-scientist, which means I will be a doctor who sees patients but also does research. My career goal is very different from Cara's career. Despite our differences, however, we both recognize the importance of mentorship. Cara's advice to me was to find a good mentor, someone who wants to see me succeed in my career, but also someone who is willing to give life advice, as it is important to have a life outside of work.

It was fun to meet someone who grew up in Sydney and found an amazing career right out of university! Thank you, Cara and Citi e for education!
