It’s starting to get cold in Japan. Typhoon season is ending, so there's less rain and more “fall” chill in the air! It’s different from Colorado due to humidity, but my friends from the East Coast say it's similar to their weather patterns for fall!
Interestingly enough, Japan doesn’t have squirrels in the way America does. They don’t litter the parks, so I mostly see birds, cicadas and dragonflies. Surprisingly, dragonflies are more common than you’d think, and absolutely fill campus. I also went to the beach and saw more dragonflies than seagulls! When my friends and I went into Akita, we visited Senshū Park and saw koi (carp) in the pond. I also saw a dog!
Fun fact: Akita is famous for a dog, aptly named the Akita Inu (Akita dog). It's a cousin of the Shiba Inu, which is a dog you may have seen in the U.S.!
