I travelled a lot, but only within the city of San Miguel. We are currently interviewing schools, so I have not had a lot of free time to visit other places. In the interview process we have visited six different schools and move between them daily. Because of this, I am seeing parts of San Miguel that I had not seen before!
I have spent some time in San Salvador which is approximately three hours from San Miguel. It is about an 83 mile journey, but since there are mountains you have to go around, it takes more time. I have visited El Tunco which is about one hour (or 25 miles) outside San Salvador. From San Miguel, I visited El Cuco which is about one hour away (or 25 miles).
I predominantly use Uber to get around as advised by the U.S. Embassy. I have used the bus from the center of San Miguel to the university. My coworkers also have given me a few rides, which I am quite grateful for.
