Getting around Urban China

There are always new tall buildings, roads, and shops to take in. All this change towards a better life has happened very very fast and is reflected in the lives that most people now live in China. Which is to say that everyone seems to be in a hurry! People are always looking to get packages earlier or to places faster. Deliverymen on e-bikes zoom off to the next place, and sometimes will illegally drive on the sidewalks. Cars drive outside their lanes in order to get to places faster, too. I am not saying this isn't true to some extent in other places--including the U.S.A. where technology has speeded up the ways in which most people live and do business--but in China the pace of life seems particularly frantic. There are days when it is exciting to be living in such a busy culture. But there are also times when I wish that people here would slow down a little, not least of all when they are behind the wheel of their automobile and I am traveling nearby, too!
