Our News

What music did I listen to this week?:

My friends and I are meeting up in Lima to see a band called TV Girl, so I've been listening to their albums a lot this week.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I go to karaoke every Friday at my friend's restaurant, and because it's new, not many people attend. We usually have the place to ourselves and get to pracitce a lot of songs without strangers to hear how terribly we sing. I sang some classic 80s New Wave songs and they came out pretty well.

What did I read this week?:

I haven't been reading any books for fun, but for work I've been reading a lot about climate change adaptation in Peru and around the world. I'm helping my colleagues prepare a bibliography for an article they plan to write, and my ability to read and translate English and Spansh is very helpful to them.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

Every Thursday, people from my work get together to play volleyball, which is one of my favorite sports to play. It's a great way for me to be active and do something team-based, and it helps me connect with people as a foreigner living in Peru.

I'm also finally finishing my 12 week weightlifting program at my local gym, after which I'll be switching to running in preparation for the Lima Marathon in May and a few trail races in April, May, and June.

Other news from this week:

Peru is having a presidential election on April 12th, and politicians are currently campaigning around the country.
