"The Terrace of the Three Immortals"

This past weekend, I camped near the ocean with a few other Fulbright teachers. Just a short scooter ride away from our campsite you could see the Sanxiantai Bridge, which is famous in Taitung!

We pitched our tents in a small patch of grass surrounded by palm trees, with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean!
Even though it was cloudy, watching the sunrise on the ocean was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
It was extremely windy on the beach, so this was the best photo we could get despite our hair blowing everywhere.
On the other side of the bridge is Sanxiantai Island; "Sanxiantai" literally translates to "terrace of the three immortals" and is famous for its significance in Chinese mythology
Our journey across the arch bridge included a lot of amazing views and powerful winds
Walking around on Sanxiantai Island felt like walking on another planet!
I couldn't believe the color of the blue water that surrounded the island— definitely a lot different than any ocean I've seen on the east coast of the United States!
