What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language spoken in Gijón is Spanish, but there is a local dialect called Bable or Asturian that is spoken in this area. It sounds like a softer-spoken Spanish with fewer throat sounds when spoken. I have not learned enough Bable to be able to recognize it when it is spoken, but I plan to learn some of the dialect during my time in Asturias.

What type of money is used here?:

The type of money that is used here in Spain and Asturias is the euro. It is used in a majority of countries in Europe, so I can use the money almost anywhere I go.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs roughly 0.85-1.20 euro, depending on where you buy the bottle and how big of a bottle it is.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal this week would have to be the meal that I ate my last day in Gijón. It was a dish called Fabada, which is a white bean stew with morcilla (blood sausage), chorizo and pork belly. I have come to love this meal, and I whenever I'm out and about in the city, I always look for restaurants where I can eat it.

What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to a lot of Monsters and Men and Ed Sheeran while traveling this week. Their songs are a great soundtrack for both trips to the beach and commutes to school.
