The beaches in Gijón and the mountains that surround the city are beautiful. I loved being able to go from the mountains to the ocean over the course of a 20-minute drive. The Cantabrian Sea is rather cold when you put your feet in it, but it's a refreshing cold. Even though my second day was a cloudy one, the clouds couldn't hide the beauty of the city.
I love seeing the mountains on my daily bus commute to and from the school in Grado. It's a beautiful drive for sure and I'm very lucky to be able to see this every day. The most amazing thing I saw this week was the huge amount of fog that covered the hills and valleys in and outside of both Grado and Oviedo. At one point, all I could see was white because the fog was so thick.
