Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

At the beginning of this week I got back from Oruro, home of Bolivia's biggest Carnival. Because we traveled all of last week, we stayed in Cochabamba for its own Carnival week.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Last week I traveled to Sucre, Potosí, and Oruro. Sucre is known for its beautiful art and buildings. Potosí is the second highest city in the world and is the most important to visit to learn about how Bolivia became a country. Oruro is the site of the biggest Carnival in Bolivia! We had to go in planes and buses to get there.

How did I get around this week?:

Every day I go to class on a bus called a Trufi or a Micro. Micros look like colorful school buses that are blasting music, and Trufis are smaller vans, but they're also blasting music.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I got to visit a school this week where the students grow their own food together! They built a garden right next to a river that used to be clean and people could swim in it. Now it's polluted, but now they're trying to make it clean again with some really cool technology that gets rid of big and small contamination.

Other Travel News from this week:
