Trying British Food

How is the food prepared?:

Cornish pasties are prepared by creating a filling then enfolding the filling into a crust made of dough.  A small amount of filling is placed onto a round piece of rolled out dough. Then the dough is enfolded around the filling and the edges are pressed down to seal the pasty. It is then brushed with beaten eggs and baked until the crust is golden and the filling is cooked. A traditional Cornish pasty has a filling made with beef, potatoes, onions and rutabagas. However, many variations can be found such as chicken pasties, cheese and onion pasties and all vegetable pasties.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

Cornish pasties are basically a full meal that you can carry with you. Because of this, workers, especially miners, in England used to pack them to eat at lunch. Nowadays, pasties are still a good food to buy and eat as you are walking around town or going sightseeing.
