What's Boiling Beneath the Ground?

He declared that there were healing powers in the waters. Since then, many people have come to Karlovy Vary to be cured. Hot spring waters are great for soothing aching muscles and joints, so a lot of people come to enjoy a steamy bath. 

There's also another way for people to enjoy these waters. Since the waters come up from underground, they carry a ton of rich minerals. Calcium, iron and other elements are in each drop of the healing waters. So every day, people living in the city fill up a small sip cup of the spring water to drink. These healing waters are supposed to be great for your stomach! You can even visit the local doctor to get a prescription for a bath or sip of the magical hot springs. It's almost like taking your vitamins. However, people have to be careful not to drink too much, or they might get sick.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

Karlovy Vary's hot springs have become so famous that everyone wants to drink or bathe in their waters. It has become a huge town for tourists, with crowded streets and hotels packed full of guests. A lot of Czech people have quit visiting Karlovy Vary because they are so overwhelmed by the people and the prices that have come with them. Today, many Russian and Germans like to visit the town. 

How have people been adapting to this environment?:

To make sure that everyone could have access to these fantastic hot springs, the city began to pipe the water directly into people's houses. The hotels, restaurants and homes get their water from the underground springs. And the visitors to the hot springs won't be disappointed either. Now, the geysers have been turned into fountains.
