Meet Lucy, A Czech Freshman

What chores do you have at home?:

I do the dishes.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My dad drives a big truck. He's driving from Prague to our home in Ostrava. My mom is something like an engineer.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

My school starts at 8:05 AM. Almost every day, I go home at 4:00 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Sometimes I take the bus, and sometimes I walk to school. Sometimes I go with my friends. [Lucy lives in a dorm, so she often goes to and from school on her own.]

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at our school canteen. I like spinach.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

We speak Czech and English. Ahoj!

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Adela, Eliška, Terka, Lucka. I think there's not a lot of boys [at our school], but maybe Martin.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

I study biology, chemistry, anatomy, Czech, math, IT and English. Additionally, we have our animal lessons. My favorite classes are anatomy and English.

What is your homework like?:

We don't have always homework, but when we do have it, it's from English. Then we have to do some worksheets.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

After school I like to help out with the dogs and cows.
