A Day in the Life of a German Kid

What chores do you have at home?:

Every week I have to do laundry and take out the trash.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom is a caretaker/custodian. She works at a school. My dad is a truck driver, but he is home every night.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

Schools starts at 8 AM and ends at 1:15 PM. I usually go home right after school, except on Tuesdays when I have English Club. On Tuesdays, I stay at school until 2:20 PM.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Yes, I am allowed to go to school by myself. I walk to school and back home. It takes me about 15 minutes to walk to school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch at home. We get two breaks during school, but my school does not have a lunch break or a cafeteria. My favorite food is pizza with mushrooms, ham, olives and cheese.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

At school I speak German and English. At home I only speak Bulgarian. Hello in German is "Hallo" and in Bulgarian it is "Zdravei."

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Some of my classmates' names are Ahmed, Nora, Lauk, Ali, Osman, Medina, Bogi and Anna. 

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

We study a lot of subjects in school. We study two languages, English and German. We also study chemistry, math, physical education, cooking, art, geography, history, religion and ethics!
