Traveling in the winter in Mongolia can be more dangerous for many people because ice and snow can cause car accidents. However, new roads open up as well! Lakes and rivers will freeze and many people use them as roads throughout the winter to get to faraway places faster. It's still important to be careful even on thick ice though. Sometimes cars still sink, especially in the spring when the ice is weaker.
