Interview With a Legendary Performer

Introduction:

Meet Chucky, a resident puppeteer trainer at the Lize Puppet Art colony. Chucky greeted us during a site visit we did to the city of Yilan to do a group project on puppetry performance. He's quite young, but he's already built a reputation as a star performer within the troupe.

What is your full name?:

"My name is Chucky! At least that's what they're calling me in English."

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

"I live in Yilan's world-famous Liza Puppet Art Colony. While I frequent the stage as a performer, I usually reside in the workshop building."

What is your family like?:

"The Lize family is a tight-knit group of artist fellows who work at the colony with me. Every now and again they travel a lot to shows and I hold down the colony on my own. Usually, though, we hang out the most during workshop sessions with the other puppets."

How do you get around?:

"I get carried everywhere I go! When I need to make long trips (say, for shows in Taipei), I fly with the fellows. In most cases, though, I don't have to go much further than from the box to the stage."

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

"I have a pretty faithful shirt and pants combo that I've always had on. It's the only set of clothes I've worn since I joined the colony.
