I would say that Rome was the most interesting city I visited, as the combination of the hustle and bustle of a modern capital with the strength and beauty of the ancient architecture made for an extremely interesting visit. My favorite individual place was probably the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, which is one of the most important Renaissance art museums in the world. Seeing original paintings and sculptures from the likes of Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and even several preserved ancient Roman marble sculptures was one of the coolest experiences of my life.
This vacation was really a dream come true for me, and I was lucky enough to spend it with my girlfriend, Juliana, who flew from the United States to come visit me during her Christmas vacation. Even so, I am happy to be back in my temporary home of Santiago de Compostela and feel ready to get started with this semester at my primary school.
