Shuttles, Buses, and Trains, Oh My!

While I stood out quite a bit from my surroundings, after riding the metro from one destination to another, I was able to navigate it and get to wherever I needed to go. Between all of these methods of transportation, I feel that I can travel throughout China in a variety of ways, even with a bit of a language barrier.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

The transportation systems throughout China at large are a way to connect with the culture and environment. In any country, mannerisms on public bus systems reflect the culture. In China, the buses are quiet, which reflects the overall quieter nature of the Chinese people. All modes of transportation can connect people to the environment of China. For instance, the crowds of people in train stations and metros demonstrate China's high population. It is also common to see people wearing masks when taking the public transportation system, which reveals the issue of pollution that reigns throughout China. Although I may stand out a bit when taking the different modes of public transportation, I am learning the nature and culture of the Chinese along the way!
