Traveler Bio

Marina Leonova has been teaching English for more than 20 years. She is a vice principal of Secondary School with Intensive Learning of Foreign Languages #4 Kurchatov Kursk Region. Her students are teenagers. this year she is teaching 8th and 10th grades.

She is an active member of the school and local community and a lifelong learner. She tries to implement new practices and integrate technologies into daily classroom life in order to create an effective language learning environment that is engaging and motivating to all students. She coordinates school cross-cultural projects with students from the USA, Colombia and Argentina. She strongly believes that ongoing learning and obtaining new experiences is extremely important in the career of a teacher.

The group of students participating in the program consists of 9 girls and 4 boys (they are 16-17 years old). They have been learning English for 8 years. They have 6 classes of English per week. One of the classes is Country Studies Lesson (this year it is the USA). French is the secong foreign language they study. They are creative students, good team players, open - minded and willing to learn and share. They actively participate in language competitions and cross-cultural projects.
