Sometimes I feel like I travel to and from the same places in the city every day -- up and down the same avenues and streets. I know that almost every day, I walk four miles getting to where I need to go.

This week I went to the office of a company that's conducting a country-wide literacy test in Tajik schools. They found out that on average, only 30-40% of Tajik students can read at grade level. It was an interesting meeting, but also pretty depressing.
