We traveled to five different cities and three different countries before coming back to Romania. We took Ubers, buses, trams, trains, ferrys and planes to get around from stop to stop.
Since October, Kelly and I have visited 14 cities and five different countries in Europe, including going back to America for my little sister's wedding in Detroit. We love being able to experience so many cultures so close to us here in Romania.
We walked a ton, almost 10 miles a day! We used a lot of public transportation to get around, too. My favorite was taking a ferry boat ride from one of the islands in Stockholm, Sweden to another.
The most haunting and sobering places we visted were the death camps in Auschwitz and Birkenau, outside of Krakow, Poland. Nothing can express the eerie feeling we had while walking through buildings where people had suffered and endured abhorrent punishments. We must never forget the terrible acts that humans have done and continue to do. We must never be complacent in letting such atrocities happen again.
