Mastering Public Transportation in Paris

Introduction:

Paris, the French capital, covers over 105 square kilometers. Thus, it is pretty intimidating to move around such a big city and not get lost. Before arriving in Paris, I was a little scared of moving around in such a massive city. However, just one week after arriving, I feel like I have mastered the art of using the métro, the most important type of public transportation here. I am excited to share a little bit of my experience on how I have mastered the metro system.

How do people get around?:

As I mentioned before, the métro is the easiest way to move around the French capital. Métro is the French word for subway. Most people take the métro to go to work, school or even the movies.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

Even though it works almost flawlessly, the Parisian métro can be a little intimidating at first. First of all, all the signs are in French and it's easy to get confused if you don't speak the language. Additionally, subway cars here always seem to be super crowded. Even though it was a little scary at first, I now love it because it makes it 10 times easier and faster to move around the city!
